No Rest for the Wicked

So I basically grounded myself from blogging for nearly a full twenty-four hours and guess what? It worked! Of course the main reason behind my excuse was the fact that other members of my family needed the computer leaving me with no other alternative...however I managed to finish up the chapter I had been struggling with FOREVER!

I even wrote the next chapter putting me in at 50,000 words when it was all said and done. Of course I was up until about 1:00 in the morning but hey what can I say? I started writing and I just couldn't stop.

So, my question for all of you wonderful writers out there, when you get on a roll, do you stop? Keep going? Or do you have adorable little interruptions in your life throughout the day like mine that persuade you to stay up all ours of the night clicking away on the laptop?

Rock on with your bad self and finishing up a chapter! When I'm on a roll, I don't stop. Interruptions are inevitable, but I try to ignore things like my phone ringing or my dinner getting burned.

Oh, wait... My dinner getting burned is, like, a bad thing... Woopsie... :P

If I am lucky enough to get on a roll, I do not let myself stop! It happens so rarely that I have to take full advantage of it. My boyfriend is my only adorable interruption, and he knows better than to try and distract me when I'm writing. Oh, and my dog but she doesn't bother me. She's very encouraging, in fact :)

I wish I had "rolls" these days. I have 1.5 hours blocked off every Tuesday, and that's been about it. If it's a weekend night though and I do find myself on a roll, the clock becomes meaningless. I stayed up till 2 am making the trailer for my first novel. :)

I love when I get on a roll like that - and yes, I've stayed up way too late more than once.

Between my dayjob, my kids, my hubby, the house and all the usual chaos, I rarely find more than a half-hour at a time for writing, so staying up late isn't new :)

Amaro-I am famous for ignoring my phone and burning dinner? That's inevitable for me. I'm a horrible cook!

DaniSue-That's great that your interruptions know better! Even my husband hasn't learned that yet!

Jessie- I know that feeling! During the school year I have to wake up at five in the morning to have writing time.

Jemi-Your chaos sounds sooooo familiar. Thanks goodness for coffee!

Yay, congratulations on being on a roll! I try to keep going if I could, but these days, it's very difficult for me to be on a roll.
