S=So Many Books...So Little Time

Every single time I make the slightest dent in my TBR pile I manage to discover even more books to add to my list. But that's okay, I'd rather have too many books than none at all. So here are a few little gems I stumbled across yesterday:

The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter

Goodreads Description:
It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

Thank-you Lindsay for recommending this one...
Chime by Franny Billingsley

Goodreads Description:
Before Briony's stepmother died, she made sure Briony blamed herself for all the family's hardships. Now Briony has worn her guilt for so long it's become a second skin. She often escapes to the swamp, where she tells stories to the Old Ones, the spirits who haunt the marshes. But only witches can see the Old Ones, and in her village, witches are sentenced to death. Briony lives in fear her secret will be found out, even as she believes she deserves the worst kind of punishment.

Then Eldric comes along with his golden lion eyes and mane of tawny hair. He's as natural as the sun, and treats her as if she's extraordinary. And everything starts to change. As many secrets as Briony has been holding, there are secrets even she doesn't know.

The Vespertine (Vespertine #1) by Saundra Mitchell

Goodreads Description:
It’s the summer of 1889, and Amelia van den Broek is new to Baltimore and eager to take in all the pleasures the city has to offer. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset—visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. However, a forbidden romance with Nathaniel, an artist, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own—still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him.

When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia’s world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she’s not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.

Now it's your turn...what books are you just dying to read?

Those sound like good ones! My TBR list is so big. I still haven't read Hunger Games or Across the Universe, so those are the top two after my book club selection of Water for Elephants.

I agree, there's always another book to be read.

I can so relate to having too many books to read. I just finished The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong which I really loved and am starting Chime. We have similar tastes in books.

I've got a few books waiting to be read. *stares at the two TBR piles next to my bed*

Love your picks (and chime :)) I just got Birthmarked by Carrah O'Brien, and Memento Nora by Angie Smibert.

My husband just bought an ebook that's making him cry from laughing...the title's something about Portuguese grammar. That's what I'll read next. The covers of your TBR pile are sultry!

I'll admit, none of these is really looks like my type of book, but then again I've been wrong before.

I've recently delved through my "dying to read" books, and all that leaves is my "would really like to read but it would be okay if I never got to them" books. And once this Challenge ends, I may actually get a chance to read some of them...

The Goddess Test sounds like Keturah and Lord Death. But since I really liked that one, I might check it out.

Those covers are all so beautiful! I don't blame you for drooling over these books. :) And you're right, there are so many good books out there, it's tough to pick!
