For me it is extremely important to support new authors as they embark on publishing their very first novels. Besides, these talented individuals make it easy when they write such amazing stories. So of course I began compiling a list of books I simply must get my hands on...some of them I have and some I am still pining for.
Here is my list so far: For complete descriptions you can visit my list on Goodreads.
The False Princess by Eilis O'Neal
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Entangled by Cat Clarke
Across The Universe by Beth Revis
The Iron Witch by Karen Mahoney
Vesper by Jeff Sampson
The Liar Society by Lisa and Laura Roecker
Angelfire by Allison Courtney Moulton
Haven by Kristi Cook
A Touch Mortal by Leah Clifford
Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres
Falling Under by Gwen Hayes
Wither by Lauren DeStefano
Die For Me by Amy Plum
Flawless by Lara Chapman
Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky
Possession by Elana Johnson
Luminous by Dawn Metcalf
Bad Taste In Boys by Carrie Harris
Wildefire by Karsten Knight
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake
Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey
And that's only my debut author list...my pile just keeps growing and growing. If I ever make it to the bottom, well that's not going to happen so why worry about it?
So spill...what books are you pining for this year?

I totally agree with the importance of supporting new authors. This is a fantastic list. Thanks!
It's very important to support debut authors. I signed up to the challenge and started with 20 books (most of them are in your list), but now I'm so over my 20, I keep finding so many more. I just have to find time to read all of them.
I just purchased Haven!!! As for the others I either own them or I have them on my TBR list as MUST HAVES for the year!!!
Such a great D word... Debuting is so uber cool!
It's great to support newly-published authors - for one thing, you don't have to speed-read their previous novels to catch up with their latest book!
On the other hand, once you've finished the un-put-downable story you do have to wait around a bit for their next one to arrive! (unless they're lucky to have a multi-book deal with their publisher and a back-catalogue of unpublished works!)
That said, with a newbie author you feel as though you're cheering them on to success - and if they're worth their salt they appreciate their fledgling fan base (and often show it!)
So, I shall be checking out some of these titles....oh dear, my TBR pile will be geting even bigger!
SueH I refuse to go quietly!
Great list. And now I've added a few titles I forgot about to the TBR pile ;)
Since I've only read one on our list maybe I should start there.

I so agree that supporting debut authors--YA and middle grade. I'm trying to do my part when I blog on Mondays. Many of your books are on my list. We have similar tastes.
Thank you so much for your support of debut authors and for including Shattered Souls on your list!

I have a lot of these on my to-read list! Can't wait to read them all. :)
Wow. What an awesome list. I proud to say I've actually read a few of these. Yay!
Great list! The Liar Society is excellent. I have Across the Universe laying on my desk right now!
